Long Bay

If there's a big swell on the east coast then you can occasionally get waves here. Offshore in a westerly.

Muriwai

Good surfing can be found at Muriwai Beach and Maori Bay. Maori Bay is more consistent but usually more crowded.

Piha

Good surfing at South Piha and North Piha.

Tawharanui

Surfing

If there's a swell on the east coast then you can get waves here. There are a couple of different beaches to surf at. Quite north facing so offshore in anything from SW-SE.
