Pest animals

As a geographically isolated island nation, New Zealand has animals that have evolved without any of the mammalian predators found in other countries. The introduction of many animal species by humans has had a massive detrimental impact on native flora and fauna. More recently, foreign reptiles, insects, amphibians, fish and bird species have also appeared in New Zealand.

The ARC targets pest animals that are in low numbers in the region and containable, and those species that threaten important habitats or native species. We don't usually deal with ants, wasps or rodents in urban areas.
