Strategic Issues
The forum is required to prepare a list of strategic issues, determine a priority for action on each issue, and regularly review that list, as one of its functions under the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park Act .
The strategic issues facing Tikapa Moana - Hauraki Gulf and its catchments were defined in 2002 and 2008.

These priority issues are reflected in the work plan of the forum and the focus of the State of the Environment Report.
