EIF 2006 recipients

In 2006 we allocated $622,919 to 269 applicants around the Auckland region.

Examples of projects funded in 2006 include removal of rubbish, trapping and baiting, edible gardens, public access to coastal areas, preventing erosion, environmental research and survey analysis, fencing to protect wetlands, native tree planting, weed and pest control, conservation and restoration for a heritage building, a range of school environmental educational projects and environmental awareness programmes and workshops.

The 2006 EIF round included sponsorship from Honda and Transpower.
The Honda Tree Fund contributed over $120,000 to support the planting of native trees.
Transpower provided over $50,000 to build the capacity of community groups.
