What you can do to protect streams and fish habitat:

  • maintain and plant trees on shorelines
  • keep contaminants out of the water
  • leave a buffer zone between activities and waterways
  • don't change fish migration in streams and rivers, keep clear of obstructions
  • woody debris provides food and protection for fish.
