Stormwater Seminar July 2009
The Stormwater Action Team's annual seminar at the Aotea Centre on July 22 attracted well over 250 attendees. Staff from the ARC mixed with delegates from industry, universities, crown research institutes, local councils and community groups.
The stormwater seminar is unique in the region as it brings together so many people with an interest in stormwater management. It's also a valuable tool for communicating the results of research and innovative projects, and it fosters discussion, debate and builds relationships among practitioners across the region.
Presentations were well received on state of region's freshwater and marine waterways, contaminants and their effects, the results of the harbour modelling studies, community engagement and stream restoration, information on best practice guidelines and the latest on low impact design.
The presentations are all available fro you to read.
Session 1: State, values and predictions
Session 2: Steam restoration and iwi and community management
Session 3: Stormwater Best Practice Guidelines
Session 4: Low impact design
