Elinor Vernon
Barquentine
The Elinor Vernon (official number 101474) was a barquentine of 570 tons, built in 1876, by J. B. Nutt, Pembroke, USA. She measured 150 x 32.4 x 17 ft, and had two decks.

| 1879 | The vessel made 12 trips to Auckland from 13 May 1879 between 22 December 1892. |
| 1894 | In April 1894 she was sold to a Dunedin firm and converted to a hulk. |
| 1907 | The Elinor Vernon was sold to the Black Ball Coal Company in June 1907 and was used for many years as a coal hulk in Wellington. |
| 1916 | She was later towed to Auckland by the SS Ngahere in September 1916, where she was used as a hulk. |
| 1927 | The Elinor Vernon was condemned in 1927. |
| Disposal | On 21 June 1928, the hulk was towed to Rangitoto. Her cabins and forepeak were filled with waste paper saturated with kerosene and the vessel was burnt. |
