Wedding sites

Auckland Regional Parks offer a variety of locations suitable for holding wedding ceremonies.


Scott Homestead (Scott Point)

  • The garden around the Homestead is available for weddings. 
  • Groups of up to 30 people will be considered during the high summer months. During the rest of the year, maximum group size is 100. 
  • Parking space close to the Homestead is very limited. 
  • Ideally, wedding groups would approach by sea, using the Scott Point wharf.

Mahurangi Regional Park

  • This park is one of contrasts and offers calm inner harbours and sheltered beaches.

Wenderholm Regional Park - Couldrey House Garden

  • The gardens can accommodate up to 100 people, for ceremonies only.

Shakespear Regional Park

  • Shakespear Regional Park has a special bookable wedding site.

Long Bay Regional Park

  • Long Bay Regional Park has a special bookable wedding site. Also at Long Bay is the historic Vaughan Homestead (phone Torbay Historical Society on 09 473 8176 for Homestead bookings).

Waitakere Ranges and Muriwai Regional Parks

  • Sites are available in the Waitakere Ranges and Muriwai Regional Park for a wedding ceremony. Historic Rose Hellaby House is now available for wedding ceremonies.

Awhitu Regional Park

  • The wedding site at Awhitu can accommodate up to 100 people. A permit is required, contact the Senior Ranger Recreation on 09 366 2044.

Auckland Botanic Gardens

Three sites at the Botanic Gardens are available, further information can be found on the Auckland Botanic Gardens website.

Further information

  • Booking entitles you to use of a site for your specified time.
  • Weddings are treated as a Discretionary Use Activity and will incur an application fee of $100 in addition to the appropriate site fees.
  • Receptions held in regional parks may be considered. However, restrictions may be placed on numbers, music volume, and the consumption of alcohol. Again, most sites will be considered but may be excluded at the time of application.
