Annual report 2006/07

The ARC produces an annual report each year to account for the money provided to it by ratepayers, financial institutions and government agencies.

The annual report is also an important tool for informing residents, ratepayers, visitors, government agencies and other Auckland region stakeholders of the financial year's highlights and major achievements.

The report is the Council's key accountability document, representing our commitment to open and honest disclosure to all our stakeholders - from local ratepayers to financial institutions and government agencies.

This is also an opportunity to show how we are bringing alive our vision and mission and to share our achievements and our involvement in delivering sustainable economic, social, cultural and environmental outcomes for the Auckland region. In short, our role in helping to make Auckland a great place to live.

This year's report outlines how we performed against the strategic direction and groups of activities set out in our Long-Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP) 2006-16.

Many of the ways in which the information is represented are governed by legislation, such as the Local Government Act 2002, and standard accounting practices.

However, we have taken every step to make the information it contains as user-friendly as possible.

The summary report

The ARC has also produced a summary of this report. The summary outlines the report's most important information, so that you can see - at a glance - exactly what we have achieved on your behalf in the past year.

Your feedback is valuable

The annual report is a very important part of the Council's work, and we are constantly seeking ways of improving it. If you would like further information on any matters mentioned here, or wish to provide feedback, please email: info@arc.govt.nz
