The full breadth of the ARC’s environmental monitoring work has been used in the preparation of this report and it is the leading resource on the state of the region’s air, land, freshwater and marine resources. It substantially updates and increases our shared understanding of the state of the environment.

This is the fourth state of the Auckland Region report.  The first was launched in 1999.  You can view previous state of the Auckland region reports here.

Following an internationally recognised state of the environment model, the report defines the drivers of environmental change (namely human activity), the pressures these activities place on the environment, the state of the region’s natural resources and how they are faring under the pressures, and the ARC’s responses.
