Reduce your rubbish
Every month the Auckland region creates enough rubbish to fill a rugby field to over the height of a 10-storey building! By shopping wisely, recycling more, composting and consuming less you can help reduce our rubbish mountain.
Actions you can take
How to reduce rubbish that goes to landfills:
- learn about the rubbish problem
- compost your waste
- recycle
- smart shopping
- take hazardous waste to the hazmobile
- become a waste reduction champion at work and lobby for ways in which your company can reduce waste.
What is the ARC doing?
The ARC works with industry to encourage the adoption of cleaner production methods.
The ARC operates "RENEW", the waste exchange register, which matches businesses who have waste to get rid of, with other businesses that can reuse that waste.
