Economic statistics
The Auckland regional economy is estimated to have grown by 2.4% in the June 2007 year.
Economic growth in Auckland is forecast to rise slightly to 2.6% in the year to June 2008, and then to rise further to 3.4% in the following year. A sustained lift from 2009 to 2011 is forecast.
- around 45% of jobs in the region are involved in property and business services (17.3%), manufacturing (14.6%), and retail trade (12.3%)
- the region's unemployment rate was 3.9% in the year to September 2007.
