Wynyard Quarter
Regional plan: Coastal
The Auckland Regional Council has proposed changes to the Regional Plan: Coastal relating specifically to the coastal marine area (the water space and wharves) around Wynyard Quarter (also known as the Western Reclamation, Wynyard Point and the tank farm). This plan change amends the Regional Plan: Coastal to provide for the changes expected in the area, as part of the proposed redevelopment of the entire Wynyard Quarter, which is addressed by the proposed changes to the Auckland City District Plan (Central Area Section).
The Auckland Regional Council's coastal plan change can be viewed at: coastal plan change. Submissions on the plan closed on 20 August 2007 and further submissions closed on 7 December 2007. The hearing was held in July and August 2008 and decisions on submissions were notified on 29 November 2008. Twelve appeals on the plan change were lodged with the Environment Court in February 2009.

The plan changes are part of the implementation of the Auckland Waterfront Vision 2040.
