Purpose of Pre-lodgement Meetings

Pre-lodgement meetings provide an opportunity for Council Technical Officers to meet and talk about your proposal before it is finalised and lodged.

Where do Pre-lodgement Meetings fit in the Consents Process?

Pre-lodgement meetings follow on from the point at which the initial enquiry requesting information about a proposal has been dealt with by either the Council's Contact Centre or an officer from the relevant technical team, and the pre-lodgement package

When a resource consent is required or is likely to be required, a pre-lodgement package is sent or given to the applicant. The pre-lodgement package consists of the following:

Format of the Pre-lodgement Meeting

For simple proposals, the pre-lodgement meeting may only require a short meeting to explain the process and the level of information required for the application, and to answer any questions you may have. Also at this meeting any copies of information from the relevant regional plan, other technical information that may be useful and the relevant application forms could be provided to you.

For complex proposals, officers will prepare an agenda to ensure that all the issues are covered at the meeting. A copy of the agenda will be circulated to you or your consultant prior to the meeting.
