Businesses can benefit from online path to Auckland stats
Auckland businesses can tap into regional statistics on the new Knowledge Auckland website to help them plan ahead.
Knowledge Auckland is a web-based repository of information specific to the Auckland region.
It was developed by Auckland Regional Council (ARC), New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and the Department of Labour.
The new website aims to provide businesses, researchers and decision-makers with better access to the types of information and analysis they need in order to plan for Auckland's economic future.
A quick search on the site reveals a wealth of information, from economic and labour market trends to how many litres of fuel were consumed in the Auckland region last month.
"The website was developed in response to the lack of accessible Auckland-based statistics," explains Knowledge Auckland project leader Eva McLaren, from the ARC.
"Those wanting to find statistics specific to Auckland needed to spend hours searching multitudes of different sources or commission expensive research to find what they need.
"Knowledge Auckland has statistics on the Auckland region available free of charge in one central place, making information easy for everyone to access."
New statistics are uploaded to the site as soon as they become available.
"Information is a key part of any business planning process," says AucklandPlus Group Manager Clyde Rogers. (AucklandPlus is Auckland's regional economic development agency).
"Having Auckland regional data and information available in one central place is invaluable to all businesses operating or looking to operate in the Auckland region."
To ensure that Knowledge Auckland responds to the needs of businesses, AucklandPlus will seek suggestions on how to improve the website later this month.

Thank you for visiting the Auckland Regional Council website and giving us your feedback. We are seeking to improve the information and services available on our website in the near future and any feedback you can provide will help us greatly in this process.
