Tomorrow is the day to give public transport a try and leave your car at home - it's World Carfree Day. Pledge to be carfree on the MAXX website and you could win a mountain bike or free travel.

Make the pledge at www.maxx.co.nz, Auckland's regional transport website, and you'll go into the draw to win an $800 mountain bike or $200 worth of travel.

World Carfree Day is marked around the world every 22 September. The event encourages people to get around without their car for a day and help ease traffic congestion. It also highlights the alternatives: public transport, cycling and walking.
