ARC's role in economic development

  • Leadership. The Auckland Regional Economic Development Forum was established in 2005 and leads the ongoing development, progress, monitoring and review of the regional economic development strategy. 
  • Facilitating and delivering economic development projects. AucklandPlus is a stand-alone business unit of the ARC that facilitates the delivery of major regional projects, including key aspects of the Metro Project, and focuses on regional promotion and investment attraction.
  • Policy development. The ARC has a role in regional economic and social policy development, research and monitoring and is a founding partner of the Metro Project.
  • Research and Monitoring. ARC produces Business and Economy, a biannual publication on Auckland region's business and economic environment.
