Navigation Safety Bylaw 2008

The document contains the 2008 Navigational Safety Bylaw for all navigable waters (including inland lakes) within the Auckland Region. It came into force on the 1 July 2008. All harbour users should be aware of the bylaw and the rules governing the navigational safety of all craft and persons with the Auckland region. Maritime rules

Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) has also issued some rules. These cover collision avoidance rules, seagoing qualification requirements, watch keeping requirements, dangerous goods, maintenance and survey.

The Harbourmaster may, from time to time, give directions. These directions may be given to regulate the manner in which any vessel navigates or lies within the waters of the Auckland region.
