2004 State of the Environment Report
The Hauraki Gulf Forum launched its first Hauraki Gulf State of the Environment Report on 22 March 2005.
The report is the first time that environmental information covering the whole of the Gulf area has been bought together in one document.
The report is based around six key chapters. These are:
- Water quality (chapter 5)
- Biological diversity (chapter 6)
- Natural character and landscape (chapter 7)
- Access to the Gulf (chapter 8)
- Cultural heritage (chapter 9)
- Coastal hazards (chapter 10).
Each chapter discusses the state of that dimension of the Gulf, the pressures being experienced, and the responses the various agencies are making to those pressures. Pressures and responses that apply across several of the dimensions are discussed in chapters 2 and 3.
