A number of documents provide the management, monitoring and education infrastructure for the action plan:

Strategy, management and policy

• Regional Management Act (RMA)
• Proposed Air, Land and Water Plan
• Sediment Source Mapping in Mahurangi Harbour - TP321 (June 2006)
• Land use consent application for - sediment control
• Mahurangi East Integrated Catchment Management Plan & Network Management Plan - Developed by Rodney District Council to support the application for a comprehensive stormwater discharge consent

• Mahu Estuary Ecological Monitoring Programme (TP335)
• Reserve Management Plans - provide general direction for the management and expenditure of a particular reserve for a period of 5 years. Reserve Management Plans give a general indication of the intended use and development of reserves. They often contain suggestions for various works or improvements.
