Mahurangi action plan
Landowner assistance fund
MAP has a Landowner Assistance Fund (LAF) which has grants available for improvement and restoration projects that will help to:
- protect and enhance land, streams and waterways
- reduce the potential for silt (sediment) run-off and build up.
These projects could include fencing fencing-off streams, waterways; undertaking riparian planting; retiring erosion-prone land; and changing land management practices.

The 2010/11 funding round is now closed. Future MAP LAF funding rounds will be announced in due course.

Although the 2010/11 MAP LAF funding round is now closed, you may be eligible for other grants. Please refer the ARC Environmental and Heritage Funders Guide publication.

Tree plantings
Every year MAP hosts a number of tree planting days. Details will be available in late March.
Riparian workshops
Riparian workshop is planned for late March. Details will be posted soon.
Mahurangi forum
The Mahurangi forum is a collection of community groups that meet to discuss how we collectively look after the Mahurangi harbour. Currently they meet monthly to draft the catchment plan.
