Coastal Enhancement Fund (CEF)

Through the Coastal Enhancement Fund, the former Auckland Regional Council (ARC) sought to raise awareness of coastal values, promote safe navigation and water safety, protect and enhance coastal water, and promote and support marine biodiversity.  These responsibilities transferred to Auckland Council on 1 November 2010.

Funding for the Coastal Enhancement Fund was derived from seabed license fees.  The funds previously collected from this source have now been fully expended.  As a result, no funding round is scheduled for 2011.

Other council environmental and heritage funds are currently being accessed for 2011/2012. There will generally be no further allocations of council funding before 1 July 2011. For more information, please visit the Auckland Council website or contact the Environmental Funding Administrator on 09 624 4764 or email coastal.enhancementfund@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz

Alternatively, you may be able to access non-council funding for your project.  Fundview  provides a searchable database with information about funding for voluntary organisations, and contains application details for over 600 different funding schemes that operate within New Zealand.
