EIF 2008 recipients
In 2008 we allocated $532,219 to 174 applicants around the Auckland region.
Examples of project funded in 2008 include a booster translocation of North Island robins from Kokoia Island to Aotea, animal and plant pest control, restore Marae grounds, seminars on heritage issues for Piha, promotion of community awareness of environmental and heritage issues, restore old headstones, urupa protection, restoration of cultural heritage buildings, Trees for Survival brochure, riparian planting and fencing to keep stock out, botanical knowledge book, ecosourced native plant propagation unit, sustainable gardening, water conservation, native forest restoration, dune restoration and a gateway to Pa Harakeke.
The 2008 EIF round received sponsorship from Honda New Zealand. The Honda TreeFund contributed over $136,000 to support the planting of native trees.
