‘Industrial or trade process’ consents

Do I need an industrial or trade process consent?

Under the Resource Management Act (1991) and the Auckland Transitional Regional Plan (TRP) , industrial or trade process sites that discharge contaminants require a resource consent. The ARC uses the Proposed Auckland Regional Plan: Air, Land and Water (Proposed ALW Plan) for guidance.

The ALW Plan categorises sites according to their potential pollution risk. This depends on the types activities carried out and the size of the operation.

Working through the steps below you can determine where your company fits and what the requirements will be.
