The industrial and trade processes team, also known as the pollution prevention team, is a key component of the ARC's strategy to control pollution. The team plays a vital role in preventing, investigating and mitigating land and water pollution in the Auckland region.What does the industrial and trade processes team do?
- Undertake pollution prevention site assessments as part of the Industrial Pollution Prevention Programme (IP3), to assist companies to identify and manage land and water pollution risks on their site.
- Review and provide feedback on Environmental Management Plans (EMPs) and Spill Response Plans.
- Process ‘industrial or trade process' consents under the Proposed Auckland Regional Plan: Air Land and Water.
- Undertake compliance monitoring of ‘industrial or trade process' resource consents and undertake enforcement action when needed.
