Protecting waterways from stock

• The target of the stock exclusion section of the Air Land and Water Plan is to protect all rivers and streams from unrestricted stock access using a staged approach based on established management priorities, the implementation of intiatives, education and advocacy.
• The Dairying and Clean Streams Accord promotes sustainable dairy farming in New Zealand. It focuses on reducing the impacts of dairying on the quality of New Zealand waterways.
• Fonterra and regional councils have developed regional action plans for the main dairying regions to implement this Accord.
