The Dartford, official number 76975, was built in Sunderland in 1877. She was an iron-hulled fully rigged ship of 1327 tons.

| 1908 | The Dartford was purchased by the Union Steam Ship Company in 1908 for use as a training ship and was owned by the company until 1926. |
| 1914 | Converted to a hulk at Wellington in 1914. |
| 1916 - 1921 | She was recommissioned as a barque in 1916. The Dartford made two trips to Auckland, on 20 November 1920 and 21 February 1921. |

| TODAY | The remains of the Dartford have not yet been positively identified amongst the wreckage on Rangitoto, but are thought to lie alongside the remains of the Ngapuhi, at Wreck Bay. |
