Looking out for yourself and others
Regional parks are wonderful places full of places to explore and to relax. To help you enjoy your visit the Auckland Regional Council looks after park facilities and structures however your safety and that of people in your care is your responsibility. Even though regional parks are located close to where we live and work sometimes things can go wrong, even in the smaller parks.
Use your common sense and previous experience when deciding where to go and what to do.
Check for information about your destination or activity and if going for a walk take sensible precautions. If you are unsure check the resource list provided above.
At some times of the year certain restrictions may be in place including rahui (banning of shellfish collection), park closures and fire bans. To ensure you are not disappointed with your visit and to avoid fines please check the website for updates.
During the summer holidays some locations can be very popular. To help avoid car parking issues and crowds check the website for other fantastic locations that you may enjoy.
Theft from vehicles is not common but unfortunately can happen. You should take the same reasonable precautions you take when parking at other locations and remember to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you.

Thank you for visiting the Auckland Regional Council website and giving us your feedback. We are seeking to improve the information and services available on our website in the near future and any feedback you can provide will help us greatly in this process.
