Anawhata Beach Track
Walking track

From end of Anawhata Road, track passes down driveway then branches off right to become a steep, gravelled track down small valley, finally crossing dune to south end of Anawhata Beach.

What to expect:

Walking tracks will:

  • have easy to moderate grades with drained surfaces, generally consisting of a compacted and drained surfaces.
  • be well sign-posted with directional signs at track entrances and junctions and have safety signs where required.

Walking tracks may:

  • have steps on excessively steep areas.
  • have timber boardwalks and bridges over permanent wet areas and waterways.
  • have seats and maintained views at areas of interest.
  • Walking tracks should be suitable for people with reasonable fitness levels.

How to get to Anawhata

From Auckland City, use SH 16 (North West motorway) Exit at Great North Rd. Follow Great North Rd, Ash St, Rata St, Titirangi Rd to Titirangi Village. At the end of the village, go through roundabout on to Scenic Drive. Follow Scenic Drive until the Piha turnoff is reached. Follow Piha Rd until Anawhata Rd (first road on right hand side). Follow Anawhata Rd until the end(Anawhata Rd is gravel and very narrow and winding – please take care).
