Barr Cottage

Barr Cottage was built by Bill Barr between 1935 and 1940, using materials reused and recycled from the original Barr cottage of the late 1880s, which once stood alongside.

Directions:

Little Huia, Southern Waitakere Ranges. 40km and approximately 50 minutes drive from downtown Auckland. The cottage is located at 1368 Little Huia Road, on the side opposite to Little Huias tidal beach.

Comments:

Bedrooms: Three bedrooms, one with a queen bed, two with two single beds in each.
Bathroom: Bath/shower and separate toilet. Kitchen: with fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, and toaster, jug, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery provided
Power supply: Standard domestic power supply. Water:Tank supply, stream fed, please boil all drinking water Heating: electric column heaters provided. Stack fire place in living area. Bach users must supply firewood.
Rubbish: Barr Cottage has a bin, please use the rubbish bags provided and place your rubbish bags in the bin outside the bach.
You need to supply: Bed linen, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, additional pillows, towels, tea towels, food, personal items etc.
Boat launching: Boat landing or launching facilities either from beach with 4WD or at nearby ramp.
