Baileys Cottage

  • Baileys Cottage is a small, traditional bach building on one level with two bedrooms, a shower room with toilet, a main living area and an open plan kitchen.
  • All facilities are up to date and modern.
  • There is a mown grass area surrounding the bach.

  • As you approach the end of Ridge Road, the access drive way is on the left. It is sign posted “Bailey's Cottage”.
  • Go through a locked wooden gate off the road on the left hand side.
  • Once through the gate, Bailey's is 20 metres up the hill along gravel road on top of headland.

Power supply: Standard domestic power supply
Water: Rainwater, not treated
Heating: electric column heaters provided
Rubbish: Baileys Cottage has a bin, please use the rubbish bags provided and place rubbish bags in the wheelie bin outside the bach.
You need to supply: Bed linen, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, additional pillows, towels, tea towels, food, personal items etc.
Boat launching: There is a public boat ramp in the Rodney District Council car park at the end of Ridge Road. This is a good ramp with an all tide access.

Theft from vehicles is not common but unfortunately can happen. You should take the same reasonable precautions you take when parking at other locations and remember to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you.

How to get to Mahurangi

Mahurangi West Drive north on State Highway 1. About 6km past Wenderholm Regional Park, turn right into Mahurangi West Rd then right into Ngarewa Drive and follow to the end of the road. Scott point Take State Highway 1 to Warkworth and follow the signs to Snells Beach. Approximately 1km past Snells Beach turn right into Ridge Rd and follow to the end of the road. Mahurangi East Has no road access. Access is by boat only.
