Tawharanui bach has a kitchen/dinning area, with a separate lounge, 3 bedrooms and a bathroom containing shower, toilet and sink.

Directions:
  • Go through the main park entrance gate, then the predator gate.
  • Immediately turn right through the gate and 70 metres along the drive way to the bach.
Availability:
Limited availability. Available most days during the Primary School and Public Holidays. The days during these periods that are not available will be booked out in advance.

Bedrooms: Three bedrooms; one with a double bed, one with two singles and one with a set of bunk beds.
Bathroom: Bathroom with shower and toilet
Kitchen: with fridge/freezer, stove, toaster, kettle, pots/pans, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery provided.
Power supply: Standard domestic power supply
Water: Bore water, treated potable water
Heating: Electric oil column heaters provided.
Rubbish: Tawharanui Bach has a bin, please used the rubbish bags provided and place rubbish bags in the wheelie bin outside the bach
You need to supply: bed linen, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, additional pillows, towels, tea towels, food, personal items etc.
Boat launching: There are no boat launching facilities at the park.

Theft from vehicles is not common but unfortunately can happen. You should take the same reasonable precautions you take when parking at other locations and remember to lock your vehicle and take your valuables with you.

How to get to Tawharanui

Take State Highway 1 north to Warkworth. Follow the signs to Matakana. Just past Matakana turn right at the Omaha turn off, drive along Takatu Rd and the park is well sign posted. (Note: the last 6km of the route is a winding gravel road).
