Planting days in parks
Every year during planting season (winter), hundreds of trees and shrubs are planted at our Regional Parks. You can be involved!
In our Regional Parks we plant native plants and trees to show Aucklanders samples of how parts of Auckland once looked. Some restored ecosystems will look and function as nature intended.
We plant to protect the things that belong in the parks - native plants, birds, fish and insects and their support systems and food supplies - forest, streams, wetlands, sea. Planting helps maintain and enhance biodiversity.
Planting season for 2009 is now finished but to find out about other volunteering opportunities go to our events calendar and filter the events by the category volunteers.

Thank you for visiting the Auckland Regional Council website and giving us your feedback. We are seeking to improve the information and services available on our website in the near future and any feedback you can provide will help us greatly in this process.
