The ARC has a number of other accommodation options on or near the trail. You may choose to adjust or extend your tramp to stay at one of the following campgrounds or baches.
- Barn Paddock Campground
- Whatipu Caves Campground
- Tunnel Point Campground
- McCreadies Paddock Campground
- Barr Cottage Note - Barr Cottage is 1.4km off the Hillary Trail Route
- Keddle House Note - Keddle House adds approximately 1.6km to your tramp.
These campgrounds and baches can be booked by contacting the ARC on 09 366 2000.
Privately owned or operated campgrounds, lodges and B&Bs
There are also many privately owned campgrounds, lodges and B&B's in the Waitakere Ranges area. These cannot be booked by the ARC but can be incorporated into your tramp along the Hillary Trail.
