Draft Annual Plan 2008/09
Give us your views on our Draft Annual Plan 2008/09
A message from ARC Chairman Michael Lee:
"This is one of the most significant ARC annual plans in a generation. With your support we intend to build an electric rail system for Auckland. It would be part of a region wide network with better bus and ferry services. People will be able to get around on one smartcard ticket. We can achieve this in the next few years if we close the public transport funding gap. With the support of a regional fuel tax we will buy a fleet of new, quieter and faster electric trains, as part of wide-ranging improvements to train, bus and ferry services, in time for the Rugby World Cup in 2011.
"We will also continue to re-develop Auckland's waterfront, expand our regional parks network, and protect the environment. We will fund improvements to rail level crossings and develop Shakespear Regional Park into a wildlife open sanctuary."
Our Draft Annual Plan sets out this year's work programme and budget, the third year of the ARC's Long-Term Council Community Plan 2006-16 (LTCCP) and includes proposed amendments to the ten-year plan.
You can view the draft plan below in one document, or split into smaller sections. You can also link through to the Region Wide Draft Annual Plan summary, which provides an overview of the draft plan. Region Wide is also delivered to all households and businesses in the region.
