It sets in place the policy for promoting the sustainable management of these resources. It also clarifies the respective roles of the agencies with responsibilities under the Resource Management Act (RMA) in the Auckland region.

The aim of the document is to achieve integrated, consistent and co-ordinated management of the region's resources. It also provides greater certainty over the way natural and physical resources are to be managed and creates awareness of the constraints and opportunities in the Auckland region.

The ARPS became operative on 31 August 1999.

Copies of all proposed plan changes and decision reports in respect of the ARPS can be viewed on this website, at central public libraries in the Auckland Region and at the ARC Customer Services Counter, Ground Floor, 21 Pitt Street, Auckland.

Alternatively you can view the ARPS here, and also view proposed changes and decision reports.
