Background to Auckland Regional Policy Statement: Proposed Private Change 11 - Extension to the Metropolitan Urban Limits, Takanini Structure Plan Area 2A
Pursuant to the First Schedule, Clause 25 (2) (b) of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Auckland Regional Council has resolved to accept that part of the Metropolitan Urban Limit request involving Area 2A of the Takanini Structure Plan. Part of Area 2A is affected by air noise contours generated by Ardmore Aerodrome and therefore subject to Proposed Plan Change 6 and Variation 1 of the Operative Papakura District Plan - Ardmore Aerodrome Noise Land Use Planning. This Plan Change and Variation are yet to be resolved. The area of land involved is approximately 50 hectares.
Private Change 11 will involve an amendment to Map Series 1: Sheet 20 of the Auckland Regional Policy Statement.

Background to Proposed Auckland Regional Plan: Air, Land and Water Proposed Variation 2 - Extension to the Urban Air Quality Management Areas, Takanini Structure Plan Area 2A, Part 2B and 2C
If the Metropolitan Urban Limit extension is confirmed, the Urban Air Quality Management Areas for Takanini will also need to be extended to incorporate Area 2A, Part 2B and 2C of the Takanini Structure Plan. Urban Air Quality Management areas seek to ensure a high level of amenity and to protect human health, particularly for sensitive sectors of the population from the adverse effects of air discharges. Proposed Variation 2 reflects the proposed extension to the Metropolitan Urban Limits.
Variation 2 will involve amendments to Map Series 1: Map 40 and 41 of the Proposed Auckland Regional Plan: Air, Land and Water.
